Abstract: All acutely self-poisoned cases admitted to Shahrekord Kashani Hospital in Chaharmahal and Bakhtyari Province, Iran during a one-year period, were evaluated for intoxication. A total number of 638 self-poisoned patients (324 males and 314 females) were identified. The majority of cases (47%) were adults aged 20-45 years. In all groups, most of poisoning (69.3%) occurred intentionally, particularly in the adult group. The case fatality ratio was 1.2%, and organophosphate was the main agent associated with poisoning …
